Welcome to my site, for starters, here is my reel!
My name is Michael Rinker and I am a broadcast journalism major at West Virginia University. I am from Spotsylvania, Virginia and I am currently twenty-two years old. Growing up, it has been a dream of mine to be a sports broadcaster, specifically anchoring sportcasts.
Before college, I attended Massaponax high school where I was a member of the newspaper, the wrestling and soccer teams. While on the newspaper staff, I worked my way into becoming the News page editor. Also during high school, I anchored the morning announcements for my high school.
Currently, at WVU, I work for the athletic department. Here, I mostly do camera work for the various division one sports teams here. I have also worked for the club hockey team as the PA announcer at the rink. I have had the opportunity to take Mountaineer Playbook and WVU News which has allowed me to anchor a sportscast as well as create packages.
Moving into my career, I want to work in a major sports market. I have aspirations to anchor a sport show as well as call play-by-play for professional sports leagues. My dream market to work in would be Washington D.C. Currently, I am amidst graduating and am searching for an MMJ or Sports Reporting job in any network, market, or state.
